Wala Mahgoub Ibrahim (@monni1983) is a native of the Sudan. She studied English and French at the University of Khartoum and Wala currently works as a Customer Service Officer at an International Bank in Paris.
Wala became interested in drawing at the age of 7 years old, and is for the mostpart, a self-taught artist. She has developed her skills in various media including acrylic paint, oil and charcoal. Wala finds herself drawn to capturing the essence of women on canvas and Canson . While her artwork has appeared in five exhibitions in Khartoum, Wala has also held a solo exhibition in Paris in 2019.
Wala explains: “Art is my life, I can’t imagine my life without it … it’s like second nature to me. I feel 100% me with a pencil in my hand.” Wala’s ultimate goal is to become a full-time professional artist and have a studio in New York City.
