Ninar Taha (@ninartaha) is a Sudanese-American visual storyteller and researcher raised in Richmond, VA and currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up among a tight-knit community of Sudanese immigrants that strongly retained their culture of oral storytelling, Ninar is interested in the role of mythology in our construction of collective memory within the diaspora. Inspired by her family history, travels, and surrealist theory, Ninar’s work seeks to forge connections between the past and present, and deepen understanding of the ties that bind Blackness across geographies.
