Yasir Algrai

Yasir Algrai (@yasir_algrai), born in 1993, began his journey in art in 2012. He studied at the College of Fine and Applied  Arts at the Sudan University of Science and Technology, graduating in 2016 specializing in printmaking. Yasir uses acrylics, watercolors, and inks in his work.

Yasir’s work as an artist has included collaborating on projects with the World Health Organisation on Tuberculosis prevention; Plan International on Human Rights in Education; the UNDP “Sudan Bukra” campaign; UNICEF; and, with Sudanese Youth Organisations. He also conducted a drawing workshop for refugees to address psychological trauma at the Trauma Center of the University of Afad in 2022. Yasir has exhibited as part of 5 group exhibitions in Khartoum, including at the French Institute; and in 4 group exhibitions in Nairobi. His work has also been exhibited in Hamburg as part of the “What Lingers” exhibition (2023); in Jordan as part of the “I am the Earth” exhibition (2022) and in Virginia as part of the “Power of the Collective” exhibition (2024). In 2022, he had a solo exhibition at Studio Zan in Khartoum.
