Waleed Mohammed (@artistwaleedmohammed) is a dedicated Sudanese artist whose passion for drawing began at the age of seven. He graduated with distinction in Drawing and Painting from the College of Fine and Applied Arts, Sudan University of Science and Technology in 2023.
Waleed first gained attention in the art scene through his participation in the collective exhibition “Across Generations” in 2021, and soon after, he held his first solo exhibition, “Reverse,” at Downtown Gallery in Khartoum in 2022. Waleed has showcased his work in various group exhibitions across Khartoum, Cairo, and Cologne, and was a key participant in the notable “Disturbance in The Nile” crucial exhibition, which toured Portugal and Spain in 2023-2024.
Despite the challenges posed by the outbreak of war in Khartoum in April 2023, which resulted in the loss of his studio, Waleed was able to relocate to Nairobi in 2024 with the support of the MRI Fund for Artists at Risk.
