Mohamed Adam, (@peterandblack) also known as Peter, is a textile engineer and product designer born and raised in Libya. He is the founder of Peter & Black, a slow-fashion leather brand established in 2016 in Khartoum, Sudan. The brand celebrates Sudanese heritage and craftsmanship through luxurious handmade leather pieces. Mohamed’s artistic journey is deeply influenced by his Sudanese roots and a passion for storytelling through functional art.
After fleeing the war in Sudan, he relocated to Nairobi, Kenya, where he continues to rebuild his brand while introducing it to new markets. Mohamed’s work focuses on blending tradition and innovation, with projects like Walking Art, which transforms original paintings into wearable leather products. Currently, he designs exclusive collections for international collaborations, hosts hands-on leather-crafting workshops, and aims to inspire others through his dedication to creativity, resilience, and cultural preservation.
